Frank started off as a guerilla gardener in the late 90’s tending to abandoned tree boxes in Dupont Circle. Once the tree boxes were noticed, people began to ask to have their gardens tended to. That is when his landscape gardening company Fairies’ Crossing was founded.

 

In late 2008 Shaw Main Streets approached Frank about a possible green space in Shaw. OLD CITY green appeared in Christmas of 2008. In Spring 2013, OLD CITY green rebranded to OLD CITY Farm and Guild, assuming its current location of 925 Rhode Island Ave., NW.

 

Frank’s own mission is about creating a space for people and plants by bringing nature back into the urban environment.
